These hot chocolate & coffee Fa-la-la-la-la spoons could not be more perfect for the Christmas season. Not only are they adorbs, they are easy (and that ups the perfect factor in my eyes). If you can microwave, then you got this!
All you need is:
For toppings we grabbed some marshmallows, chocolate chips, and Andes chocolate mints & peppermint (both already crushed in the baking isle, score!). At first, nuts seemed like a good idea. Then I realized I didn't really want nuts floating around my coffee or hot chocolate, so scratch that.
Step 1 - Melt chocolate chips in microwave working in 30 second intervals. After each 30 seconds stir really well, it should only take a couple of rounds before being smooth. It is okay if it is thick, you don't want to burn the chocolate.
Step 2 - Mix in cocoa and confectioners sugar
Step 3 - Put chocolate mixture into piping bag or large Ziploc ( I used one and it worked just fine) and cut the corner tip off. Pipe mixture into muffin tips leaving a bit of space for toppings. Stick spoons in each spot ( they'll stand up by themselves), and sprinkle on toppings.
I had extra, so I swirled some spoons directly into the chocolate and laid on wax paper, these will be delicious in Christmas morning coffee!
Step 4 Place tin in freezer until they easily pop out, an hour or two. If they do not pop right out, they aren't ready.
SERVE THEM UP! See now you feel like Martha, but only needed 3 ingredients and a microwave :)
For the hot chocolate sticks, we heated up milk, and slowly stirred these in until melted. Yum!
For coffee, just stir and enjoy!
For an extra special touch, serve on metallic gold stag GRUB Paper
